This option is cheaper than the overflow. The reason is that in the overflow pool construction, we would need to build a peripheral or side channel for the water that overflows, as well as an extra tank for the water that would overflow. In this scenario though there is no overflow, so all the above can be avoided.
Consequently there is a substantial reduce of the construction cost, from 20% up to 30% compared to the overflow pool. A pool with a skimmer is also ideal for smaller spaces.
In a pool with a skimmer, the distance from the water surface up to the pool border is approximately 7cm.
From mechanical aspect there is no difference between a skimmer and an overflow pool. In both options we can achieve perfect quality in the clarity of the water.
We recommend the method of skimmers for pool sizes of maximum 60 square meters. If the pool is going to be larger than 60 square meters we recommend an overflow pool.
